Anita Dipke revealed that she saw a video of her son appearing dizzy during the protest, which left her in tears. She also said that his father became so disturbed after watching the incident that his blood pressure dropped. According to her, Abhijeet left behind a well-paying job and a comfortable life in the United States to stand up for students' rights, yet the government has failed to listen to their concerns.
छत्रपति संभाजीनगर, महाराष्ट्र से सामने आए एक भावुक बयान में कॉकरोच जनता पार्टी के संस्थापक अध्यक्ष अभिजीत दीपके की मां अनीता दीपके ने छात्रों के आंदोलन और कथित लाठीचार्ज को लेकर गहरी चिंता जताई। उन्होंने कहा कि पिछले एक महीने से छात्र शांतिपूर्ण तरीके से अपनी मांगों को लेकर बैठे हुए हैं, लेकिन उनके साथ जिस तरह का व्यवहार किया गया, वह बेहद दुखद है। अनीता दीपके ने बताया कि उन्होंने अपने बेटे का वीडियो देखा, जिसमें वह चक्कर खाते नजर आ रहे थे। यह देखकर वह रो पड़ीं, जबकि उनके पिता की तबीयत भी बिगड़ गई और उनका ब्लड प्रेशर गिर गया। उन्होंने कहा कि अभिजीत ने अमेरिका की अच्छी नौकरी और आरामदायक जीवन छोड़कर छात्रों की आवाज उठाने का रास्ता चुना, लेकिन सरकार उनकी बात नहीं सुन रही। उन्होंने कहा कि किसी भी लोकतंत्र में छात्रों पर हिंसा और लाठीचार्ज समाधान नहीं हो सकता।
