Filipino activists on Wednesday (July 22) clashed with anti-riot police while protesting the visit of U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio, who is in Manila for meetings between ASEAN foreign ministers and the bloc's dialogue partners.
The protesters called on the United States to end its involvement in regional conflicts and accused Washington of fuelling tensions in the Asia-Pacific region.
