Trinidad and Tobago ranks third among the English-speaking Caribbean nations and fifth overall in the wider Caribbean for suicide mortality rates.
Director of the Victim and Witness Support Unit and Counselling Psychologist, Kirk Pierre, said the statistics are deeply concerning and underscore the urgent need for greater attention to mental health and emotional well-being.
