A 20-year-old student who had returned home to visit his family lost his life after his car plunged into an open drain in Delhi's Vasant Kunj. Days earlier, a six-year-old boy drowned in an uncovered water filled pit in Greater Noida. The two incidents raised questions over the safety of uncovered drains, open pits and other unattended civic hazards.
