A recent study conducted by SETI has ventured into a previously uncharted territory in the quest for extraterrestrial intelligence, examining high-frequency radio emissions from the Atacama Large Millimeter/submillimeter Array located in Chile. Researcher Louisa Mason scrutinized past ALMA data for narrowband emissions that might suggest advanced technology. Although the investigation did not confirm any technosignatures, it indicated that previous surveys may have encompassed a significantly larger number of stars than initially thought. One particular analysis revised the estimate from approximately 288,000 stars to over 6.1 million, prompting a reevaluation of future SETI methodologies.
