Scientists from the University of Barcelona have introduced the Paleocoordinates Calculator (PACA), an accessible online resource designed to recreate the historical positions of fossils and various sites on Earth spanning millions of years. This innovative tool utilizes comparisons based on up to five prominent global plate tectonic frameworks and has been validated against 142 reconstructions globally. Testing indicated an average spatial discrepancy of under 17 meters and a concordance correlation coefficient of 1.000, aligning closely with traditional desktop methodologies in terms of precision. This advancement promises to enhance the accessibility of paleogeographic studies and foster greater collaboration within the Earth sciences community.
