In the second quarter, SK Hynix recorded an unprecedented operating profit of 60.5 trillion won, marking a 557% increase year-over-year, fueled by the surging demand for AI memory chips utilized in data centers. Nonetheless, these results did not meet analyst forecasts, resulting in a nearly 10% decline in the company's stock. The supplier to Nvidia also saw a revenue surge of 257% to 79.3 trillion won and revealed intentions to boost investments while securing long-term agreements for AI chip supplies amid rising competition.
