लोकसभा में विपक्ष के नेता राहुल गांधी ने दिल्ली में छात्रों पर कथित पुलिस कार्रवाई को लेकर केंद्रीय गृह मंत्री अमित शाह के इस्तीफ़े की मांग की है। राहुल गांधी ने आरोप लगाया कि जंतर मंतर पर प्रदर्शन कर रहे छात्रों के साथ बर्बर व्यवहार किया गया और पैलेट गन तथा बल प्रयोग किया गया। उन्होंने कहा कि दिल्ली पुलिस और रैपिड एक्शन फोर्स गृह मंत्रालय के अंतर्गत आती हैं, इसलिए कार्रवाई की जिम्मेदारी गृह मंत्री की बनती है। राहुल गांधी के अनुसार, या तो गृह मंत्री को कार्रवाई की जानकारी थी या फिर वे अपने मंत्रालय को नियंत्रित करने में असफल रहे। उन्होंने इस मामले की सुप्रीम कोर्ट की निगरानी में स्वतंत्र जांच की मांग भी की। सरकार की ओर से इन आरोपों पर प्रतिक्रिया अलग हो सकती है, जबकि यह मुद्दा संसद में राजनीतिक बहस का केंद्र बना हुआ है।
