Meteorologists from AccuWeather are keeping a close watch on maritime areas surrounding Florida, the Carolinas, Cuba, the Bahamas, and Bermuda for signs of potential tropical activity in the early to mid-August timeframe. Although no significant events are anticipated in the initial days of August, the presence of warm waters approaching 80 degrees Fahrenheit and reduced wind shear may facilitate the formation of storms. To date, the Atlantic has seen two tropical storms this season—Arthur and Bertha—with no hurricanes reported. Specialists caution that coastal regions may require vigilant observation as conditions change throughout August.
