In a dark crypt, Katherine Pierce tries to wake an ancient chained vampire named Mikael. She dangles a small dead animal over him, but he remains still. Damon Salvatore calls her, annoyed she has ignored him for two days, and insists she keep trying.
When Mikael finally awakens, Katherine asks if he can kill their enemy, Klaus. Mikael confirms he can. She offers her wrist, but he refuses, stating he doesn’t feed on living things. Confused, Katherine asks what he eats. Suddenly, Mikael lunges and bites her neck, revealing he feeds on vampires!
