The peak-hour commute home for many motorists in Darwin has become quite the spectacle, with dozens of people seen stopping on the side of the road to point telescopic camera lenses towards the sky. They call themselves plane spotters, many of them travelling from across the world and the country just to photograph Australia's largest aviation war games, Exercise Pitch Black.
