Intense monsoon rains have caused perilous flash floods in the wildfire burn scar regions of southern Colorado, sweeping ash, mud, and debris into areas such as Beulah, San Isabel, and Wetmore. Authorities have issued evacuation orders, shut down roads, and advised residents to seek higher ground as the debris flows transported charred trees, rocks, and even propane tanks. The Aspen Acres Fire has scorched 101,921 acres and is currently 66% contained, leaving these areas at increased risk of flooding. More thunderstorms are predicted over the weekend, maintaining the threat to burn scar communities.
