2020 के उत्तर-पूर्वी दिल्ली दंगों के दौरान इंटेलिजेंस ब्यूरो (IB) के जांबाज अधिकारी अंकित शर्मा की नृशंस हत्या के मामले में कड़कड़डूमा कोर्ट ने फैसला सुना दिया है। अदालत ने पूर्व आम आदमी पार्टी (AAP) पार्षद ताहिर हुसैन और उनके 4 अन्य सहयोगियों को उम्रकैद की सजा सुनाई है। दिल्ली पुलिस द्वारा मौत की सजा (फांसी) की मांग की गई थी, हालांकि कोर्ट ने आरोपियों को सुधरने का अवसर मानते हुए आजीवन कारावास की सजा तय की।
A Delhi Court has sentenced former AAP councillor Tahir Hussain and four others to life imprisonment in the brutal Murder case of IB officer Ankit Sharma during the 2020 Northeast Delhi riots. The prosecution had sought the death penalty, highlighting the extreme barbarity of the crime, but the court awarded life imprisonment stating the convicts were not beyond reformation.
