Featured in Nature Communications, the investigation revealed that DNA separates at the interface of two MCM2-7 helicase rings, and identified a molecular gate that releases a single DNA strand to kickstart replication. The study integrated synthetic biology, comprehensive DNA mapping, and protein analysis within live yeast cells.
