After intense backlash, FIFA has scrapped plans to sell a stake in the World Cup and its other events to private investors. The backdown comes after one of FIFA President Gianni Infantino's senior advisers resigned overnight, calling the plan a bad deal for football. The proposal was designed to raise nearly $6 billion by selling shares in a new subsidiary that would run FIFA events. Host of The Sports Ambassador podcast Tracey Holmes says Mr Infantino will be working hard to salvage his presidency.
