I point out past / future references to James Bond (& associated movies / actors) in the lyrics to Queen's 1975 song Bohemian Rhapsody. The track appeared on the British rock band's fourth album Night At The Opera. Queen scored the 1980 sci-fi / superhero film Flash Gordon. Among this film's cast: Timothy Dalton:
- "Oh, mamma mia, mamma mia" - Actor Pierce Brosnan played Ian Fleming's spy character in 4 films: GoldenEye (1995), Tomorrow Never Dies (1997), The World Is Not Enough (1999), Die Another Day (2002). He later starred in Mamma Mia!, the 2008 musical romantic comedy based on the stage musical of the same name, in-turn based on the songs of pop group ABBA.
- "(Galileo) Galileo, (Galileo) Galileo, Galileo Figaro, magnifico" - apparently a reference to the Italian astronomer. Interestingly, the radio telescope at Arecibo Puerto Rico was the setting for the climax to the James Bond film Goldeneye.
- "But I'm just a poor boy, nobody loves me He's just a poor boy from a poor family" - Bond actor Timothy Dalton played Heathcliff in the 1970 adaptation of Emily Bronte's novel Wuthering Heights.
- "Scaramouche, Scaramouche, will you do the Fandango?" - a reference to the recognizable Italian theatrical clown character. Roger Moore donned clown makeup as James Bond in Octopussy (1983).
- The song Bohemian Rhapsody was featured in the opening of 1992 comedy Wayne's World (based on the Saturday Night Live skit). In the '93 sequel, A View To A Kill (1985) Bond actor Christopher Walken appears in the cast.
