Voting for the 16th Negri Sembilan state election officially ended after all 401 polling centres across the state closed at 6pm on Saturday (Aug 1).
As of 4pm, 65.38 per cent, or 562,133 of the 859,760 registered voters, including 7,391 postal voters, had cast their ballots.
The Election Commission had earlier projected voter turnout for the election to reach between 72% and 75%, with early results expected as soon as 10pm.
