Iran has launched another explosive drone strike inside Iraq, escalating tensions along the volatile Iraqi-Kurdish border. Two explosive drones slammed into the mountainous area near Jasana Cave in Sulaymaniyah province, sparking a massive fire that scorched vineyards and orchards close to positions linked to Iranian Kurdish opposition groups.
While no casualties were reported, the attack triggered alarm in Baghdad. Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia' Al-Zaidi convened an emergency security meeting, ordered heightened military readiness, and reaffirmed that Iraqi territory must not be used as a battlefield for attacks on neighboring countries.
