The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said it killed two Hamas commanders in separate operations in the Gaza Strip, including Salem Jamal Abd al-Rahman Abu Labad, whom it identified as a Nukhba cell commander allegedly involved in the October 7, 2023, attack on Kibbutz Nir Oz. The IDF also announced the killing of Muhammad Abd al-Nasser Muhammad Khatib, identified as a commander in Hamas' Maghazi Battalion. According to the Israeli military, both men played roles in Hamas military operations. Hamas had not immediately commented on the Israeli claims, which could not be independently verified.
