Esports World Cup: 'More than 150,000 tickets sold' at the halfway mark
"We sold more than 40,000 tickets in the first two days. Today, we are at more than 150,000," Mohammed Al Nimer, a chief commercial officer of the Esports World Cup Foundation, tells reporters in Paris on the sidelines of an event at the Champs-Elysees. Running from July 6 to August 23, largely at the Paris Expo Porte de Versailles venue, the Esports World Cup brings together 25 tournaments across a range of video game titles, from Valorant to Rocket League, and features more than 2,000 players representing some 200 clubs from 100 countries. "So the goal for us very much is scale and to reach new fans, reach new audiences," adds Mike McCabe, COO of the Esports World Cup Foundation.
