Air India flight AI2379, operating from Phuket to Delhi, carrying 134 passengers, encountered severe turbulence and it reportedly dropped 300-foot during its journey on 4 August, leaving several passengers and crew members injured.
The aircraft landed safely at Delhi's Indira Gandhi International Airport, where all passengers and crew disembarked.
As per reports, around 12 people sustained minor injuries, while some required medical assessment at the airport.
In a statement, Air India said the aircraft experienced a brief in-flight turbulence related event during cruise, resulting in a momentary change in altitude, while clarifying that there were no serious injuries.
The airline added that its airport team and medical personnel were providing all necessary assistance to those affected and that it was cooperating with the relevant authorities as part of the investigation into the incident.
