The students' protest against alleged irregularities in the JPSC-JSSC recruitment examinations continues in Ranchi, the capital of Jharkhand. As part of the agitation, student leader Devendra Nath Mahto had been on an indefinite hunger strike at Jaipal Singh Munda Stadium for the past four days. On Wednesday, social activist Sonam Wangchuk spoke with him through a video call, during which they discussed the students' demands and the ongoing movement in detail. Expressing concern over Mahto's deteriorating health, Wangchuk urged him to end his fast. Following the conversation and Wangchuk's appeal, Devendra Nath Mahto called off his four-day hunger strike.
झारखंड की राजधानी रांची में JPSC-JSSC भर्ती परीक्षाओं में कथित गड़बड़ियों के खिलाफ छात्रों का आंदोलन लगातार जारी है। इसी आंदोलन के तहत छात्र नेता देवेंद्र नाथ महतो जयपाल सिंह मुंडा स्टेडियम में पिछले चार दिनों से आमरण अनशन पर बैठे थे। बुधवार को सामाजिक कार्यकर्ता सोनम वांगचुक ने वीडियो कॉल के माध्यम से उनसे बातचीत की। इस दौरान उन्होंने आंदोलन की मांगों पर विस्तार से चर्चा की और देवेंद्र नाथ महतो की लगातार बिगड़ती सेहत पर चिंता व्यक्त करते हुए उनसे अनशन समाप्त करने की अपील की। सोनम वांगचुक की अपील और बातचीत के बाद देवेंद्र नाथ महतो ने अपना चार दिन से जारी अनशन समाप्त कर दिया। बताया गया कि वे इस दौरान अन्न और जल का त्याग कर आंदोलन कर रहे थे। हालांकि, JPSC-JSSC में कथित अनियमितताओं को लेकर छात्रों का विरोध-प्रदर्शन अभी भी जारी है और आंदोलनकारी अपनी मांगों पर सरकार से ठोस कार्रवाई की मांग कर रहे हैं।
