Tropical Storm Maymay (international name "Kujira") is expected to gradually weaken as it crosses Northern Luzon after making landfall over Magsingal, Ilocos Sur at around 2 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 6, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said.
PAGASA said the storm is likely to continue weakening as it moves across the mountainous terrain of Northern Luzon, while its enhanced southwest monsoon, or "habagat," continues to bring rains over parts of the country.
