Part 3 - Following up on some videos I recently did on 2 post apocalyptic Italian action films: The New Barbarians (alternative title: Warriors Of The Wasteland) (1983) & Endgame: Bronx Lotta Finale (1986). I thought 1985 Ruggero Deodato sci-fi movie I Predatori Di Atlantide (The Atlantis Interceptors or Raiders Of Atlantis) may have a future easter egg to another George Lucas project, the Indiana Jones action adventure series.
The villain in this story is called "Crystal Skull" & wears a transparent face mask. I thought this a possible predictive hint to the 2008's Kingdom Of The Crystal Skull which concerns the search for one of the legendary relics. Connections include Tito Capri who was a writer on "Barbarians" & The Atlantis Interceptors. Actor Michele Soavi played James in The Atlantis Interceptors & "Gold Carrier" in Endgame.
A connection established in The New Barbarians connects to recent news from San Diego ComicCon ('26) where it was announced that Ryan Gosling will play the Marvel comic book hero Ghost Rider in a 2028 movie. Director Shawn Levy & Writer Jonathan Tropper are confirmed on this, having just worked with Gosling on Star Wars: Starfighter, due out in 2027. In thinking about some past movies with possible future hints to this project, the '87 adaptation of The Running Man came to mind. Actress Maria Conchita Alonso co-starred with Arnold Schwarzenegger in this. She was later in '89 comedy Vampire's Kiss with Nicolas Cage (whoa also played Marvel hero Ghost Rider in 2 films).
I recently did a related video on this subject on another 1983 Italian action film, Endgame: Bronx Lotta Finale. In this I noted the opening, very similar to Stephen King's '82 Running Man story. A red dome that appears on the hood of a car that may resemble the head of Star Wars droid R2-D2. In The New Barbarians you'll see (apparently) the same red dome affixed to one to the enemy vehicles.
