An emotional appeal from a Warrington widow is at the heart of a new NHS campaign urging more people across the North West to record their organ donation decision after family consent rates fell and transplant waiting lists reached a record high.
Sue Walker says there was never any hesitation in honouring her husband John’s wishes after his sudden death because they had spoken openly about organ donation throughout their marriage. The NHS hopes more families can have that same certainty and help save lives.
