Shortly after leaving the game, Carrington posted two words on Threads: “white privilege”, while tagging the Indiana Fever. She did not explain what the post referred to, leaving fans to speculate whether she was criticizing the foul call, Cunningham, or the Fever organization.
Cunningham has previously said she does not harbor hatred toward transgender people but believes protecting girls and women in sports is “common sense.”
The incident adds another chapter to the complicated history between Carrington and the Fever. Carrington previously called Indiana supporters “the nastiest fans in the W” after facing racist abuse online.
