Today marks the 17th day of the ongoing student protest against irregularities in the JPSC and JSSC examinations. After talks with the government failed to yield concrete results, the protesting students set out to march to the Jharkhand Legislative Assembly. A large number of students started the march from the gates of the old Assembly building; police attempted to stop them by erecting barricades, but the students broke through. Subsequently, the police used water cannons.
