The incident happened Friday in Cincinnati, Ohio, as the man filmed friends struggling to move a stuck golf cart during a storm. While laughing and recording from nearby, he remained under a tree while holding an umbrella — a dangerous position during lightning activity.
A sudden flash and loud bang ended the recording, capturing the shocking moment the lightning struck him on the arm.
Meteorologist Matt Devitt later reported that the golfer escaped with non-life-threatening injuries and is now recovering. The golfer described himself as “unbelievably lucky” and “very lucky and blessed” after surviving the incident.
