Fermented Mint – Simple Homemade Recipe
In this video I show how I make fermented mint at home. It’s a very simple recipe using lemons, mint, sugar, and water. After a few days of fermentation you get a refreshing drink with a light sour taste that can be kept in the refrigerator.
This is an easy method that anyone can try with fresh or dried mint.
For a 3-liter jar of fermented mint you will need:
2–3 lemons
Fresh and/or dried mint (about 30 g)
150–200 g sugar or sugar substitute
About 3 liters of water
Preparation
Add the lemons, mint, and sugar to a 3-liter jar. Fill the jar with water and mix everything well.
Cover the jar with a piece of cloth instead of a lid so the contents can breathe. Leave it at room temperature and stir the mixture twice a day (morning and evening).
After about 3–4 days the fermented mint should be ready. Strain the liquid and store it in the refrigerator.
