At least 18 children were among the 80 people who died after an overloaded ferry capsized in Zimbabwe. On Tuesday, Aug. 11, the Zimbabwe Republic Police announced that a District Development Fund (DDF) “boat with 90 people and five crew members has capsized in Lake Kariba” — with the number of passengers later confirmed to be higher.
