The Bar Council of India (BCI) led by Chairman Manan Kumar Mishra has officially issued an apology to law students following a massive controversy involving Hyderabad's NALSAR University of Law. After NALSAR students raised objections to CJI Surya Kant attending their convocation, the BCI initially barred the 2026 graduating batch from advocate enrolment. However, after severe criticism and dynamic intervention by the Supreme Court affirming students' right to peaceful protest, the BCI withdrew all action and proceedings against the students.
