PAGASA: Heavy rainfall expected throughout August
The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) says rains will persist throughout August but would not be as intense as what happened on Aug. 17, 2026. In a Palace press briefing, Roy Badilla, deputy administrator for Operations and Services of the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa), said they were monitoring two low-pressure areas (LPAs)—one 400 kilometers west of the country and another in Extreme Northern Luzon—which will enhance the southwest monsoon or 'habagat.'
