The town of Portland on Victoria's south-west coast has quickly become ground zero for the state's battle against bird flu. Just two weeks after recording the first case, hundreds of birds have died in recent days and washed up on the town's beaches. And local's say the authorities have been silent, forcing them to take the clean-up into their own hands.
