संयुक्त अरब अमीरात (UAE) ने ईरान पर अपनी सीमा की ओर दो बैलिस्टिक मिसाइलें दागने का आरोप लगाया है। इनमें से एक मिसाइल UAE के क्षेत्रीय जल में गिरी। UAE की वायु रक्षा प्रणालियों ने मिसाइलों के प्रक्षेपण का पता लगाया, जिसके बाद आपातकालीन अलर्ट जारी कर लोगों से सुरक्षित स्थानों पर जाने की अपील की गई। अबू धाबी ने चेतावनी दी है कि उसकी संप्रभुता और सुरक्षा के लिए किसी भी खतरे का कड़ा जवाब दिया जाएगा। हालांकि, ईरान ने अभी तक इन आरोपों पर सार्वजनिक रूप से कोई प्रतिक्रिया नहीं दी है। यह घटना कई महीनों बाद सामने आया पहला मिसाइल अलर्ट बताया जा रहा है और ऐसे समय हुई है जब ईरान युद्ध तथा पूरे क्षेत्र में तनाव लगातार बढ़ रहा है। अब सबसे बड़ा सवाल यह है कि क्या यह एक अलग-थलग घटना थी या फिर खाड़ी क्षेत्र में एक और खतरनाक तनाव की शुरुआत है।
