A brief respite from rains brought by the southwest monsoon, or “habagat,” is expected as Tropical Depression Neneng weakens, but another monsoon surge may affect the country next week, said PAGASA on Thursday, Aug. 20.
PAGASA also said that Neneng’s weakening will ease the habagat and allow weather conditions to generally improve. Some areas of Luzon may still experience rain, but breaks in cloudy conditions are expected, particularly over eastern Luzon.
