GABRIEL determinedly pursued his now-girlfriend Carly on a dating app, asking her out three times before she finally relented. She joked about her initial hesitance, "[Gabriel] was too nice so it was kind of off, I was like something is wrong. Then the third time I had nothing to do and I was like, you know what let's just go for it." They met up, chatted over wine, and are now madly in love. Carly is a trans woman, and Gabriel is a trans man. Their relationship has come under scrutiny with some outsiders questioning why they transitioned only to end up in a heterosexual relationship. Commenters online have said, "What the hell is this?", "Who's the man", and "Your [redacted] is bigger than his." They also have a height difference in their unconventional relationship, Carly is almost a foot taller than Gabriel. "The reaction from the public when we walk together is that people are looking, a lot", Gabriel explained. The couple have been able to overcome this disapproval by sticking by each other and building a strong foundation to their relationship. "What I would say to people that judge people in general - get a life," Carly said. "Get off the internet, touch some grass. Do your life and stop being so worried about somebody else's."
