Song Fang, the richest man in Yancheng, desperately searches for his ailing daughter, whom he has been separated from for fifteen years. Meanwhile, his biological daughter, Xu Taoyao, is forced into prostitution in a slum, becoming a child bride and feigning muteness to protect herself. The story begins with Taoyao delivering takeout and narrowly escaping being bullied and forced into marriage by her adoptive father. Song Fang, seemingly appearing out of nowhere, intervenes and saves her. Her wicked older sister, Xu Huanhuan, discovers the truth and uses a keepsake to impersonate the richest man's daughter. She manipulates the paternity test and, when both are suffering from acute illness, forces Song Fang to give her his only life-saving heart. After experiencing life-or-death situations and extreme heartbreak, Taoyao recovers from her aphasia, fakes her death, and returns as a maid to seek revenge, ultimately exposing the fake heiress's plot to murder her father.
