Meet the Italian designer who dressed the last three popes in liturgical garments
Italian designer Filippo Sorcinelli has created dozens of liturgical garments for the last three popes. Pope Leo XIV is due to wear one of the latest creations of Sorcinelli's LAVS atelier during a mass in Rimini on August 22. "Clothing a pope is, first of all, like clothing a priest," says Sorcinelli, stressing the importance of "Having at heart respect for the role the priest and the pope occupy, for his dignity and his projection into the world."
