It was 60 years ago when Aboriginal stockmen and their families walked away from their jobs on Lord Vestey's Wave Hill cattle station, beginning an almost decade-long strike. The Walk-Off became a turning point in the relationship between mainstream and Aboriginal Australia and led to the creation of Indigenous land rights.
