Two people were injured in an attack at Nanaksar Gurdwara in Edmonton, Canada, sparking condemnation from the Indo-Canadian community and calls for justice.
The attack happened around 5 a.m. Friday, with police saying a 27-year-old man entered the gurdwara and attempted to access the prayer area. Two worshippers, aged 75 and 51, were injured and suffered non-life-threatening injuries. Witnesses restrained the suspect before police arrived.
Community members have condemned the incident and raised concerns about threats previously received by Sikh places of worship. Police are investigating whether the attack was hate-motivated.
