Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has announced a major youth-focused push aimed at tackling some of the state’s biggest challenges ...migration, unemployment, limited access to competitive-exam coaching and lack of opportunities in the hill districts.
From Uttarakhand’s first-ever Yuva Aayog to free online coaching for competitive examinations, the Yuva Swarozgar Scheme, loan subsidies for young entrepreneurs and proposed Hill Industrial Parks in Chamoli, Pauri and Almora, the government is attempting to build a broader ecosystem for the state’s youth.
The Chief Minister Yuva Bhavishya Nirman Yojana 2026 proposes ₹7 crore for free online competitive-exam coaching for 10,000 students from Classes 11 and 12.
The larger question is whether these initiatives can create enough education, entrepreneurship and employment opportunities to ensure that young people can build their future within Uttarakhand rather than being forced to leave the state.
