Dolly Parton’s death was announced by her nephew Brin Seaver, who shared an emotional message about the country legend and the final wishes she had entrusted to him years ago.
Seaver said announcing her passing was an honor filled with “absolute pride and great sadness,” but added that the sadness belonged to those left behind, not Dolly. He described her as being “in the arms of Jesus,” reunited with her late husband Carl Dean, her parents and loved ones.
He remembered how Dolly had opened doors for her family and countless artists, describing her influence as something that changed generations. Seaver said, “She never saw a door she couldn’t open,” reflecting on the opportunities she created throughout her life.
He also recalled Dolly’s unique way of viewing her legacy, saying, “she farmed songs and happiness.” According to Seaver, Dolly had expressed a final wish to rest in a “beautiful bed of plush cotton” after spending a lifetime wearing her famous rhinestones.
Seaver ended his tribute with a deeply personal farewell: “Rest in peace, Aunt Dolly — Aunt, Granny, Gigi.”
He concluded by saying, “May God bless Dolly Parton, and may God bless you all. She will always love you.”
