Canada is striking back at the United States with nearly $20 billion in retaliatory tariffs after the Trump administration imposed new duties on Canadian imports. Beginning September 8, Ottawa says tariffs of 15%, 25% and 50% will target roughly 700 American products. Steel, aluminum, furniture and clothing face the highest rates, while cheese, appliances and seafood face 25% duties. Electronics and tools will carry 15% tariffs. Canada is also unveiling a $7.5 billion support package to help businesses manage cash flow and protect workers affected by the escalating trade conflict.
