After losing her customer service job in August 2025, 43-year-old Nur Zarina Zakaria turned to Threads for inspiration and built a thriving edible garden in her backyard - vegetables, herbs, and eventually a flock of chickens.
Living with bipolar disorder, she credits the garden and her chickens with pulling her through a depressive episode, giving her routine and purpose.
