Raging waters wash away home in Pampanga
Strong currents from a river in Barangay Sta. Rita-Sto. Cristo, Lubao, Pampanga caused by monsoon rains wash away a two-story house on Aug. 28, 2026. The local government urged residents near rivers and dikes to evacuate to higher ground as rescuers help families trapped by the rising waters. The public is advised to remain alert and avoid crossing flooded roads. Authorities will also monitor the possible accumulation of garbage and floating debris from collapsed structures. The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) had been issuing rainfall alerts throughout the day in most of Luzon, including Metro Manila, due to bad weather.
