Two Chinese air force Y-20 large transport aircraft carrying 50 tonnes of emergency rescue supplies arrived in Nepal on Aug 30, with four Chinese tunnel rescue experts also on board.
The Nepalese government is appealing for specialist international assistance to reach people believed to be trapped in tunnels of hydropower projects after a glacier collapse on Aug 26 triggered devastating floods along its Himalayan border with China.
