The oil-contaminated shore sand is subjected to technical processing, in particular to low-temperature pyrolysis with no exposure to oxygen from the atmosphere.
As a result of the process of pyrolysis the oil is heated to the temperature of 550-600 degrees Celsius (gas as a product of decomposition of fuels by means of a catalyst). Subsequently, a combined mixture of hydrocarbons in the form of gas and steam is cooled and condensed into liquid hydrocarbons to be further used taking advantage of traditional oil-processing technologies.
