Hundreds of people turned out to participate in a fishing competition organized in the backwaters of India's southern Kerala state on Monday.
The fishing competition was organized to promote fish angling.
Participants were given bait and locally-made rods to catch the fish and take away the prize.
Around 300 participants from all walks of life tried their hands at fish angling in the two hour-long competition.
Organizers say they’re considering turning the event into an annual competition.
