After five years of marriage, Christina Aguilera has filed for divorce.
The Dirrty singer, who married music executive Jordan Bratman in a lavish ceremony in November 2005, listed 'irreconcilable differences' as the reason.
News broke earlier this week that the couple had been living apart for a few months but that they had not yet decided about their future together.
However less than 48 hours later, divorce papers have been drawn up with September 11 2010 listed as the date of separation.
It is thought there is a prenup in place.
Jordan, 33, and Christina, 29, have a two-year-old son together called Max.
The singer told People magazine: "Although Jordan and I are separated, our commitment to our son Max remains as strong as ever."
