British Olympian Mo Farah has been training in Kenya, where he is a hero to local aspiring athletes.

The distance runner trains in the east African country's Great Rift Valley in order to acclimatise himself to hot, arid weather.

Local people line the streets to watch Farah when he runs.

His success is an inspiration for youngsters in a part of the country where unemployment reaches 40 per cent and running is the national sport.

Farah was born in Mogadishu, Somalia, but moved to London at the age of eight and was soon noticed as a promising schoolboy athlete.
